Ireland

Ah, the old country…

Half my family lives in or near Cork, Republic of Ireland, and therefore the gang of us who live in Cambridge for the rest of the year make at least one trip over there per year to see family and catch up and generally enjoy ourselves. On this particular trip we combined our pilgrimage to Cork with a week in a holiday cottage further west. Ireland is very green, but the coast in that part is very reminiscent of West Coast Scotland. Also, if you’re ever in a pub in Cork, don’t order a Guinness, order a Murphy’s. It’s the local brew, and it’s better.
