Coll & Tiree, Part II
For an island that is barely 16 miles in length, Tiree actually has a thriving community. The airstrip brings in flights from Glasgow (though we travelled by ferry) and there is even a secondary school, and extraordinary feat for such a small piece of land. Tiree is also one of the windiest places in the UK, a fact that Peter and I realised when we had to give up one day after struggling to cycle into 40mph headwinds. Luckily the lady who ran the hostel was very understanding!
