Hebrides 5: Harris and Lewis

In the whole journey, I was most affected by my response to the Isle of Harris: I did not like it one bit. I can’t deny that the island is absolutely, but for me the mountains seemed to hem me in and I felt very claustrophobic for the whole time that I was there. Perhaps this was because I was used to the flat vistas of North Uist, or because I understood the tragic history of the place, but I left sooner than I anticipated.

Uig Sands on Lewis more than made up for it though.
